General HASBRO B-Daman CROSSFIRE Discussion
#1
B-Daman CrossFire is Hasbro's international name for TAKARA-TOMY's Cross Fight B-Daman toyline. It is slated for release by August 2013. This topic is for discussion pertaining to it.

Thanks to Junglee, some B-Daman products have been listed:

As one can notice, Hasbro made drastic changes to the B-Daman in terms of colour scheme and stickers.  From the ones released so far, Lightning Fin, Strike Avian, Thunder Bearga and Lightning Scorpio are designed nicer, personally.

The names are eh, "Sasword" was more original than plain ol' "Scorpio" along with "Leohjya" to "Leo".

If you're starting with Hasbro's CrossFire, I can't really suggest anything right now. Hasbro has nerfed the system quite heavily by the looks of things, so we have to wait and see.

If, by any chance, performance is about the same as the Takara-Tomy originals, I recommend just picking up a Break Bomber Battlefield. You'll get Lightning Dravise and Thunder Dracyan with it, as well as a few B-Da Marbles and a field to actually play on.

I hope that Leo's Core can be taken apart like in the Takara-Tomy version.

"nerfed"? The only possible nerf Hasbro made so far was elongating Lighting Dravise's Trigger, and we don't know yet if that was an upgrade or downgrade.

People really need more faith in Hasbro.

However, this is more suited to the Questions and Answers topic, so next time ask there, TacoKing.

I honestly have no faith in Hasbro. I used to have faith, but then they renamed every single core to be either "Thunder", "Lightning" or "Strike". I only said that they were nerfed "by the looks of things", and that's from the the Toy Fair showcase. Though, the rep could have been firing with a lot less strength than he should have.

Okay, but the way you typed that sounded as if you meant design-wise.

The names are terrible, but people can just call the B-Damans by their superior, TAKARA-TOMY names. You may not have faith for Hasbro, but have faith in that aspect that they are giving the marble-shooters a second chance to go global and to increase their popularity and accessibility.

While I'm glad it'll be easier to get more B-Da's over here, Hasbro is basically trying to milk the cow.

While that can be said for the way they're handling Beyblade currently, can you elaborate on the B-Daman aspect?

CrossFire is still unreleased but I have yet to find this "cash cow" aspect.

Aside from calling them toy robots (<_< ), they really didn't seem to put a lot of effort into this or reseraching the B-Daman series and it's changes. I mean only using "Thunder", "Lightning" or "Strike" doesn't seem creative.

Yes, it's typical of Hasbro but this doesn't mean they're milking the franchise for all its worth. We can probably say that in a few years should B-Daman be successful internationally unlike 2005 but we're talking something that's yet to see release.

The names don't seem uncreative, they are not creative, lol.

Their argument is probably that cores have "Subnames" in the form of their Takara-Tomy equivalent. Thunder Dracyan's Core subname is "Accel". Competitively, I would say we'd retain the subnames rather than Thunder, Lightning and Strike.

Yea the names hasbro gave the B-daman are pretty uninspiring,
as far as them being nerfed won't know till i get them in hand
but as i own the takara versions i cant actually see how they
can be. all i know is i hope to god smash=dragold isn't
piss yellow see-thru . that really ticked me off but about
a month. I head street date was august 1st although
i hope they sneak out a bit sooner

Sorry man but it's kinda true, i know they changed stickers on most
and the chrome cores for dracyan and dravise , im hoping dragold
is solid gold it would look a million times better. keep the core see-tru
but that gold translucent plastic is borderline criminal

All I can say is that I will never look at Dragold the same ever again xD

Knowing Hasbro, it'll become opaque yellow. They like making things as cheaply as possible.

"Ready…Aim…Crossfire! Go for total target obliteration with this unstoppable Thunder Bearga figure! His Torque Core will make his sturdy power shot boom like thunder and blast your target! Pull back, then push forward on the trigger to launch one of your marbles! Who will triumph in the end? Load up your marbles and start taking down your targets with your Thunder Bearga sharpshooter!"

Also, that red piece between the "Ultra B-Da Marble" and the Collector Card is apparently the new Tool.
